Day by day
Day 1
Arrive in Rome
Airport meet-and-greet and a gentle transfer to our central Rome hotel. Welcome dinner at 7pm with an early night to recover from travelling.
Day 2
St Peter's and the Holy Door
Morning visit to St Peter's Basilica, including passage through the Holy Door for the 2025 Jubilee. Plenty of seated time and a slow lunch nearby.
Day 3
The Seven Pilgrim Churches
A full-day coach journey to the Seven Pilgrim Churches, with short, level walks at each site and a long rest over lunch.
Day 4
Scala Sancta and Lateran
Visit the Scala Sancta (Holy Stairs) and the Archbasilica of St John Lateran. Free afternoon to rest or explore at your own pace.
Day 5
Day trip to Assisi
Scenic coach ride to Assisi. Guided visit to the Basilica of St Francis with level access and a leisurely Umbrian lunch before returning to Rome.
Day 6
Papal Audience
Attend the Papal audience in the morning, followed by a free afternoon and a farewell dinner in a quiet trattoria.
Day 7
Christian Rome at leisure
A gentle morning walk through the early Christian basilicas, with time for private prayer and reflection. Optional afternoon rest.
Day 8
Free morning and farewell
A relaxed morning to pack, shop or sit in a piazza. Farewell lunch before private transfers to the airport.
Day 9
Homeward, or Venice extension
Private airport transfers for those flying home, or join the optional Venice & Padua extension with a high-speed train escort.
